Free Parking In York

If you’re one of the many people who are up and about early doors driving in York then there’s some good news for you. Drivers will soon be able to park in certain York car parks for free three mornings of the week.

That’s right… officials at City Of York Council have announced that, starting on 26 May 2014, eight car parks (Bishopthorpe Road, Castle Mills, Foss Bank, Marygate, Monk Bar, Nunnery Lane, Union Terrace and St George’s Field) will be free between 8:00 and 11:00 on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Not only is this good news for drivers, but local businesses can also take advantage of the move by putting early deals in place or other incentives to get more customers through the door during these free-parking times.

After the negativity that’s been caused by Lendal Bridge traffic ban issues lately, this is a great move that can only help boost trade in the city.
