Christmas Events In & Around Pocklington

Are you feeling Christmassy yet? We certainly are, but if you’re still waiting to be swept up by the spirit of the season, here are a few things to do that will soon have you in the mood for festive fun…

Santa Day at Burnby Hall and Gardens, Sunday 7 December, 10am-4pm

It’s free admission to the gardens on Santa Day, and they’re all decorated for the season. There are craft stalls, crafts for children and music from the Driffield Silver Band from 1-3pm. The Purple Pig Company will also be coming, with a selection of animals to meet the children – pigs, sheep, rabbits and more. Santa himself will be in residence in the Museum, £8 for children including gift and accompanying adults free. The Lilypad Cafe will be serving festive fare.

Christmas Artisan Market, Pocklington, Sunday 7 December, 10 am-4pm

Over 20 stalls will be at the last Pocklington Artisan Market of the year, along with the choirs of Pocklington Catholic and Junior School, for some added Christmas cheer. Locally made arts, crafts and foods. For further details, see

Christmas Punchline Comedy Club at Pocklington Arts Centre, Thursday 11 December, 8pm

A real Christmas special, featuring a riot of fantastic comedians including The Noise Next Door who regularly sell out at the Edinburgh Festival. £12 in advance, £13 on the door.

‘A Christmas Carol’ with the Malton Dickens Society Friday 12 December 7pm, Fangfoss with Bolton Chapel, YO41 5QS

Carols with the Mayor in Pocklington, Sunday 14 December, 2pm

Join the Mayor to sing carols around the Christmas tree in Market Place, Pocklington. Carols will be accompanied by Woldgate College band, and a local school choir.

Beverley Festival of Christmas, Sunday 14 December 2014

Beverley’s Christmas Festival seems to get bigger and better every year, as the town hosts a Victorian Christmas market with over 120 stalls. Santa Special at Murton Park, selected dates throughout December

At the Yorkshire Museum of Farming, Murton Park, there’s a chance to meet Santa and his elves. Take a tour around Santa’s village and see his house. Visit the elves’ workshop and help them solve “The Case of the Missing Sleigh”. Meet Santa on the steam train where all children receive an early Christmas present.
